WOW Telfees
Pure fun and pleasure!
The first WOW Telfees (Numeracy Festival) was launched in 2026. This festival serves as an exciting platform for learners to showcase their numeracy skills and mathematical thinking, while promoting academic confidence and school pride. For 2026, the WOW Telfees is only presented in Afrikaans.
What do we do?
To host WOW Numeracy Festivals according to the prescribed format:
- In each class
- In each grade of the participating schools
- Numeracy festivals at circuit, district, and provincial level
Third quarter
Why do we do this?
- To promote educational fun with mathematical operations.
- To improve numeracy and mathematical literacy.
- Fun presentations, with an element of excitement.
- To help foster a love for mathematical operations.
When does everything happen?
- Registrations close: 30 June 2026
- WOW Numeracy Festivals: July – October 2026

Where does it happen?
Venues vary according to entries, but Counting Festivals are usually hosted at participating schools.

- All interested schools
- Primary school: Grade 4 – 7
- High school: Grade 8 – 9
