Creative programmes aimed at promoting language, literature and the arts are offered by WOW in schools and communities. These diverse reading and writing projects help to broaden the horizons and perspectives of learners and educators and develop readers who enjoy reading texts with understanding. WOW provides prospective university students with all the necessary information to apply for tertiary study at Stellenbosch University (SU). WOW Scholarships are available for successful students. The Sanlam WOW Spelling Festival is the largest spelling festival in the country and is hosted in all nine provinces. The spelling festival finals which are held at Stellenbosch University gives young learners exposure to the university and the opportunities available for tertiary study. WOW also hosts an annual programme at the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees to celebrate the value of the written and spoken word in all its forms in broadening perspectives.
