The Western Cape high school <\/strong>slam<\/strong> poetry competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In collaboration with Words open Worlds, W\u00eareld (a multidisciplinary arts organisation) brings an exciting new presentation to the Toyota Stellenbosch Word Festival in 2024. This production is the Western Cape high school \u2018slam\u2019 poetry competition<\/strong>, and it takes place on Thursday 3 October at 16:00 at the Daisy Jones venue in Stellenbosch. <\/p>\n\n

HOW TO ENTER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Only Western Cape high school pupils may enter.<\/p>\n\n

Record a 20-60 second video of you reading \/ performing your own original poems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

WhatsApp the video to 071 322 6584 before September 23<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The poem can be in Afrikaans or English.<\/p>\n\n

The finalists will be announced on September 24, and are then invited to <\/strong>perform live <\/strong>atthe competition on 3 October.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The winners of the slam will also have the opportunity to share the stage with some of<\/p>\n\n

South Africa\u2019s best spoken word poets in a production called WORLDPLAY<\/em>, which takes place directly after the slam competition in the same venue.<\/p>\n\n
